Kits and Badges

George and Tobias Shardlow have spent may hours in libraries up and down the country researching and documenting , using contemporary match reports , the develpoment of the kits worn by Derby County over the years. With the aid of some clever software tools , these kit designs will be displayed here for the first , some of them previously unknown.

All of their work is strictly copyrighted and reproduction is not allowed without permission. The kit shown here for the first time is that made up from the description taken from a match report from a newspaper dated 20th September 1884. We would like to thank the people at the National Football Museum and the Bolton Archive Library for their assistance.

"The attire of the Derbyshire men was a change. Brown on one side and green on the other , with a connecting trimming of gold from the neck to the waist". We will eventually produce all of the designs in a unique set of trade cards and posters.
